Before you start
- Sign in; agree access and any isolations with the site contact
- Inform monitoring centres before testing alarms
- Review the previous report and the system log
Inspection and test
- Test the agreed proportion of devices (all devices over the year)
- Check power supplies, batteries, and UPS runtime
- Check time synchronisation and firmware versions
- Inspect cabling, enclosures, and fixings for damage or corrosion
- Check for building changes affecting coverage
Finish
- Restore the system to normal; clear faults
- Inform monitoring centres the work is complete
- Record findings, defects, and recommendations
- Update as-built records for any changes
